Founder Peggy Pence, Ph.D., offers 30 years of experience in the research and development of traditional pharmaceutical and biotechnology-derived products and medical devices (including diagnostics). After spending the first 13 years of her career with a major pharmaceutical company, Dr. Pence contributed her solidly-gained expertise to the growth of emerging biotechnology companies. At Symbion, she has brought together a competent team of clinical research and regulatory professionals to implement Symbion’s distinctive approach to contract research, a client-individualized approach, derived from hands-on experience and direct understanding of the unique needs and constraints of both established and emerging companies, and their differing corporate cultures.

A dedicated team is assigned to each project. Symbion is highly flexible, and we are happy to provide a wide range of services or only limited services, according to the specific needs of the client. Our philosophy champions regular, open, and honest communication. Clients have direct accessibility to those who can best answer project questions as they arise - there is no frustrating chain of referrals. We pay attention to individualizing our services to the culture of the client’s organization.
